Project Description:
A garden still in progress… The garden opens up and drops away, with a big slope down and away from the house. The client asked for a large bespoke water feature, with somewhere they could sit and look at the lovely views below.
The project included detailed design and construction, along with the planting. The design includes a series of interlinking terraces at the top level, with pergola and arches. These provide excellent view points of the garden below.
The highlight of the garden is a series of raised, interlinking and curving pools, with cropped Purpeck stone wall. These pools are set into the slope, with each one falling into the next, until a raised pond is reached. A ramp winds its way around the side of the pools down to a lower terrace next to the raised pond.
Work also included:
- Adaptation of levels
- Steps
- Shed bases
- Trellis work
- Lighting
- Planting
… as well as practical aspects of re-routing some of the rain water pipes from the house into new soakaways.
We are currently working with the client on the detailed design of the bottom section of the garden, which will include the removal of a number of large old Weeping Willows, and a substantial amount of planting.
