Project Description:
This garden originally featured lethally slippery old crazy paving, old walls and a pond full of newts. Our brief was to create a larger, brighter sitting area – which would catch the late afternoon sun – and remove the feeling of sitting at the end of a tunnel.
The first part of this project involved the detailed design of the new terrace and retaining walls. The construction phase for this part included:
- Removal of old pond – whilst rescuing scores of newts!
- Construction of sweeping retaining walls, terraces, steps, trellis
- Installation of drainage (French drains) and water feature
- Border preparation and turf repairs
- Lighting
The next part of the project involved a master sketch plan design for the whole garden, to be implemented over time.
