Project Description:
The previous occupants of this Victorian terrace house had left the garden neglected, very overgrown and riddled with ground elder. The house is situated in a conservation area in central Reading.
ALDA’s task was to create a easy-to-maintain garden with no steps for a retired client, whilst leaving room for some lovely old shrub roses and other plants. Seating was another important aspect.
The project included detailed design, restoration and all aspects of construction and planting. We also provide a quarterly maintenance service.
The Victorian front and side boundary brick walls were painstakingly repaired, with a simple dark grey and cream quarry tiled courtyard tying in with the original black and white Victorian tiled path to the front door.
In the back garden, the design features a series of terraces joined by ramps and paths – with lots of planting to soften. Other features include:
- Pergola
- Herb Wheel
- Water Feature
- Terracotta Brickwork
… along with more practical aspects – a shed and utility area.
