A grey porcelain patio creates an impact just in time for summer

If you are looking to create a garden with a contemporary feel, take a good look at these grey oblong shaped porcelain paving slabs – used here in one of our recent design projects in Newbury.

We laid these Italian porcelain pavers in ‘Calanca light’ in two patio areas – one along the back of our client’s house and the other a large area at the bottom of the garden – and also in the pathway running between the two areas. Black limestone block pavers in ‘midnight blue’ were then used to provide a smart edging to the pathway and patio areas.  The oblong shape and sharp lines of the slabs, laid tight to each other, compliment the modern look of our client’s new build house.

Cleverly linking the whole design together are the other angular features in the garden such as the oblong area of lawn and the striking pergola with its roof of multiple horizontal posts – as well as the long oak sleeper planting bed which runs almost the entire length of the garden.

The porcelain paving and the limestone block pavers can be sourced from our supplier Nigel Belcher Turf & Paving Ltd (01635 202700).
