Finishing touches to contemporary angular garden

ALDA in Action

We’ve recently added the finishing touches to the stunning contemporary garden in Kingwood Common, featured as an ‘in progress’ blog post in September. Below you’ll find some of the highlights.

Contemporary Porcelain Paving

All the porcelain paving inStationPearl1200x600mm slabs has now been laid including the seating area around the side of the property. Here also the Staffordshire Blue brick retaining wall under the paving provides a smart contrast to the pale tones of the porcelain slabs above.

Angular Raised Beds

The unusual shaped angular raised beds on the main patio have been finished with a cladding of smooth softwood deck boards covering the inner concrete block work, and have been topped up with a soil and compost mix ready for planting.

Curved Brick Wall

A stunning curved brick wall snakes around the right side of the house hugging the line of the bank, and providing a contrast to the angular lines dominating the feel of the rest of the garden. This wall has also been constructed using the same Staffordshire Blue bricks.

Rectangular Vegetable Beds

The two rectangular vegetable beds have been constructed using large treated softwood sleepers. Our client has stained the deck board clad retaining wall black with a darker stain used for the seat top to match in with the colour of the sleepers.

Finishing Touches

A sleek slot channel drain has been installed so it runs flush with the levels of the porcelain paving on the patio and a series of smart brick steps leading up to an outbuilding have been constructed within the curved wall and finished with porcelain treads.
