Beautiful Solutions for a Multi-Level Garden in East Garston

This beautiful garden is a great example of what can be achieved in a garden with multiple levels.

The Garden Before:

Our client’s garden was looking tired and in need of an update.  The existing concrete paving along the back of the property did not provide enough space for seating, and the horizontal timber retaining walls were showing their age. The same went with the front approach to the house, where the old steps and timber retaining walls meant the property lacked kerb appeal.

With many levels to this garden, it was clear the garden needed a new design to maximise it’s full potential.

Before and After:

Here’s an advance preview of what our team have achieved, showing the garden before and after…

Some features in need of an update…

New Garden Features:

Our client was delighted with the beautifully designed steps, slopes and pathways which make the most of their interesting multi-level garden. Here’s some of the key features of the garden:

Limestone Paving

  • The attractive ‘Antique Fossil Pearl’ limestone paving immediately brightens up the space.
  • The main patio is now much larger, giving more options for seating and ample space for family and friends.

Red Brick Retaining Walls

  • The new red brick retaining walls and planting beds complement the colour of the paving and tie in with the house, giving a warm finish.
  • Extra seating is provided with the inclusion of a built in composite oak deckboard bench.

Curved Bull Nose Steps

  • Gentle curved bull nose steps on the right side of the patio allow access up to the lawn, and add another attractive feature.
  • All the steps in the garden have a bull nose edging which takes the team longer to implement, but the results are worth it with the distinctive smooth rounded finish.

Multi-level Side Pathway

  • The pathway down the side of the house has received the make-over treatment with beautiful curved steps, limestone paving and brick retaining walls.
  • The path elegantly connects the various levels of the garden, with curved corner steps up to the main patio and then a further slope up the side of the garden joining up with a gravel path to a second patio.

A Multi-Level Front Approach

  • The approach to the front door takes in an impressive series of limestone topped steps.
  • Incorporated, is a stunning circular patio with generous bull nose curved steps radiating from it.
  • The new retaining brick walls are a smart replacement and an improvement on the old timber planters. There is plenty of space for plants to add colour and texture and provide a welcoming entrance.
  • The front garden now has kerb appeal!

As you can see, a multi-level garden can be turned into a beautiful and useable space with the right design and materials, not forgetting the right team to carry out the skilled landscaping.
