Brick Retaining Walls and Steps Transform a Steeply Sloped Newbury Garden

Our client’s garden has beautiful countryside views but was let down by a sloping lawn without definition and function.  The aim of the re-landscaping was to make a more functional and inviting space and to improve access to the bottom of the garden. The landscaping is not quite finished, as we are waiting for the ground to recover after the drought before we lay the new turf, but we have finished the remodelling so you can see the structural transformation.

The Garden Before:

The garden lacked usable level areas of lawn, and access to the bottom of the garden was not easy.

New Garden Landscaping:

Katie’s design brings structure and functionality to the garden by incorporating brick retaining walls with steep steps built into the beds and another series of Sandstone steps off the main patio.

Once the ground has recovered from the dry weather and the turf has been laid, our client will be able to enjoy their level areas of lawn. The planting beds also need planting up, which will bring colour and texture to the garden. Watch this space for more photos as the garden takes shape.
